A Church near Harrogate, North Yorkshire Needed Some Pests Removing
The Church environment suits the house mouse (Mus musculus) down to the ground. Commonly referred to as a brown mouse, they thrive in largely dark, solitary locations that are often left undisturbed.

The Mice were beginning to cause damage to the furnishings within the church itself. Furniture, wires and insulation are all common materials mice will chew to maintain their incisors (constantly growing teeth). Mice also have a habit of investigating whether a material is edible or would make good bedding.
In the case of this church it was the wires that the mice had taken a liking too. The problem had to be resolved quickly and efficiently as 30% of building fires are caused by wires and cable damage.
Every nook and cranny is inspected!
Being able to fully investigate a 12th century church near Harrogate, North Yorkshire, was a pleasure and certainly a perk of the job. Ensuring that we eliminate the risk of future damage to the stunning building was an honour and a privilege.
